Application/Removal

What surfaces are recommended for applying Peel and Stick Art?
You can practically put this on any indoor flat and smooth surface, including painted walls or wood panels, glass, tiles, ceilings and floorings.  Please note that some of these surfaces may be of textured finish, in which case, it is not recommended for our Peel and Stick wall art, as they will not adhere to it.
It is not advisable to stick these on paper surfaces or wall paper. Although it will serve the purpose, you will lose the “removable” feature here as the adhesive will stick permanently on the paper.

I have just had my wall/surface painted.  Can I apply the wall art immediately?
It is recommended that you wait around 15 days before applying any wall art to newly painted wall or surfaces.  This will allow time for the paint to fully dry and get rid of moisture.

Is it easy to apply?  Will my child be able to apply it himself/herself?
It is relatively easy to apply the Peel and Stick Art as long as you follow the instructions provided.  There are some designs that require a little bit more preparation to ensure the different parts of the designs are well aligned on your flat surface; however, most are straightforward to apply.
With proper supervision and assistance from an adult, a child can help apply the Peel and Stick Art.  In fact, it is a great opportunity for an interactive and teaming activity with your child.

How do I apply?
Simply follow the instructions provided.  There will always be a “preparation” step which involves laying out the different parts of your design in sequence and preparing some temporary alignment guides for your flat surface, prior to applying the Peel and Stick Art.  After preparation, you will be able to “transfer” the different sections of your design onto your flat surface.  Then last but not least, “clean up”.
Here are some useful tips:
-          Always work with a clean and dry surface, and clean and dry hands
-          Use masking tape to make corner guides, Do NOT use scotch tape or other similar tapes which may contain stronger adhesives that may damage your wall
-          Use threads or any string to make line guides
-          Group sections of the overall design together and arrange sequentially
-          Use a thick card such as a credit card or ID to rub the design.  Ensure there are no sharp edges
-          Use your backing as a protective layer when rubbing the design onto the wall to avoid scratches and tearing
-          When removing backing or transfer tape, make sure you do not force it or it may tear your designs.  If it is difficult to remove, put it back then rub on the surface for a bit more.  Both tapes should be easy to remove. Slowly removing the backing by pulling it at an angle close to the sticker itself or folding it little by little may also help in removing it more easily.
-          Have Fun!  Be Creative!  Although there is a prescribed design provided, you may change the positioning of some parts of the design as you wish.

What is a transfer tape?
A transfer tape is a temporary adhesive tape that you apply in the front of your Peel and Stick Art.  It is used to keep different parts of your design together when you remove the backing, so that the sticker can be easily applied on your flat surface in one go.  Once you have the stickers adhere to the wall, you can remove this temporary transfer tape, leaving your designs in place on the flat surface.

Are the Peel and Stick Art removable?
Yes, the materials used to make KT&T Peel and Stick Art contain removable adhesive.  This means you can remove these, even after months of application.  Note that the longer you have the design adhered to the flat surface, the stronger it adheres to the wall.  But don’t fret. Using a hair dryer to warm the surface will help soften down the adhesive for easier removability.  Be careful not to put the dryer too close and burn the sticker though.  It is normal to have a few bits of adhesive residue remaining, especially when it has been applied for a longer time.  If this happens, you can clean your flat surface with some mild soapy water.

It says KT&T Peel and Stick Art is removable.  Does this mean that the wall will not be damaged when I remove my wall art?
Yes, you can remove the Peel and Stick Art months or even years after you first apply them without damaging your wall.  The materials are designed for indoor use and thus, uses a lower tack adhesive which makes it removable without peeling your paint off.  Note that the longer you leave the wall art on, the stronger the adhesive gets, so make sure you follow the instructions to remove these properly.
In isolated cases, you may experience some minor paint chips sticking on your Peel and Stick Art after it has been removed.  This will depend on how well your wall has been prepped.  Usually, the paint chip problems occur only when your wall is not appropriately prepped and smoothened prior to painting or when the paint on your wall is too thin.

Some people have reported that it leaves a mark on the wall after it has been removed.  Is this true?
Like any framed art or furniture you put against a wall, the surface covered by the framed art/furniture or in this case, by any peel and stick art, will leave a cleaner surface underneath than the wall around it, and thus appear like it leaves a mark, whereas it is actually the original clean surface.  Cleaning your exposed surfaces regularly will help keep the surface closer to the original shade underneath your wall art.

Can I reuse the Peel and Stick Art after it has been removed from another flat surface?
Typically, if you work with a clean surface, and keep your stickers free of dirt and grime after removing, you can reapply these designs elsewhere.  So make sure that you keep your backing so that you can return it there upon removing.
Please note that designs with intricate details such as thin lines may tear when removing these.  If the tear is small, it will normally not be noticeable when you re-apply them on the wall.  So take care in handling these when you intend to reuse them.
Other factors contributing to the weakening of the adhesive and or reduction of its reusability would include the following:  dust, fingerprints, tears, stretching of the vinyl due to forcefully pulling them off a flat surface, etc

How do I remove the Peel and Stick Art?
Apply heat over the sticker with a hair dryer.  This allows the adhesive to soften temporarily so that you can easily ply them away from the surface.  Make sure your hands are clean and dry before handling the sticker.  Use a small thin pick to lift one edge of the wall art then slowly work your way to the rest of the design.  For intricate designs, please take care in removing the stickers if you wish to reuse them.  Return the design to the backing sheet.

Are Peel and Stick Art waterproof?
You can safely use a damp cloth to clean wall art.  However, be careful though not to squeeze water on to the adhesive side.  For application on tiles, we recommend using them in your bathroom but not in the shower area or areas where large amounts of water can flow over your wall art every day.

How long does the adhesive usually last?
The materials used are intended for indoor use of about 2-3 years.  However, proper care and cleaning will make them last longer.
